Pisa is a city in Tuscany which is one of most visited places in this region of Italy. According to the legend, Pisa was founded by the Trojan refugees from the Greek city of Pisa, located in the valley of the river Alpheus, in the Peloponnese. Some recent findings, however, do say with certainty that it was founded by the Etruscans. Its real development began under Roman rule. Among the most important monuments of the city there is the famous Piazza del Duomo, also known as the Square of Miracles, part of the World Heritage Sites list of UNESCO. On the Square you will find world famous Leaning Tower (Torre Pendente). This is the bell tower of the Cathedral, built between the 12th and 13th centuries. With a height of 56 meters, top of the tower is displaced horizontally 3.9 metres from where it would be if the structure were perfectly vertical. Today it is considered one of the most famous Italian monuments in the world and the monument that is the symbol of the city. But on the Square there are also some other important monuments as the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Monumental Cemetery.

During our day tour from Rome to Pisa you will have the opportunity to visit all these places and you will surely be fascinated by the beauty of this city.
